Typically errors in Koinonein are reported to the log and then in the case of issues with Libtorrent to the koinonein_asserts.log.
You can also enable verbose logging for the current session, peer connections, torrents and DHT.
To enable verbose logging you change the settings in advanced-client-settings.xml.
When set to 1 you will get detailed logging of all actions in the session.
When set to 1 you will get detailed logging of the DHT if DHT is enabled.
When set to 1 you will get detailed logging of all torrents.
When set to 1 you will get detailed logging of all peer connections for all torrents.
Verbose logging is disabled by default however logging is very fast and won’t use a lot of CPU usage but the log files can become very large, you can set Koinonein to delete all logs when Koinonein starts by setting
delete_logs to 1.
Koinonein assert logging is always on and this should show you the cause of any serious issue.
If you’ve added torrents to Koinonein and they don’t show in the list of torrents then just click on Tab > Category and click on All.
When your using categories Koinonein will show and hide torrents as the state of the torrent changes if you have selected one of the default categories then Koinonein will only show torrents belonging to your custom categories if you have chosen to only show the particular category.
If you find Koinonein won’t download your torrents then you can try the following:
- Ensure DHT is turned on by checking Use the distributed tracker service (DHT).
- If you don’t want to use DHT go to Tab > Trackers and ensure the torrent has a tracker.
- From Tab > Trackers click Add Tracker then Download Tracker List then add some new trackers.
- Ensure that the global and the torrent speed settings are not set to 0.
- Try clicking Reopen Sockets.
- If you are using VPN Lock be sure the VPN is available by clicking Refresh.
If you find you can’t add torrents then go to Settings > Licence and activate your licence.
You can deactivate your licence if it’s activated on another device so that you can activate on a new device by going to My Account > Store Account on koinonein.com.
